Cosmetics firms recognized the benefits of organics


The demand for natural and organic cosmetics is rising in United States according to Organic Monitor, a London consulting company, the sale organic cosmetics approach $7 billion this year in the United States.

CVS-Caremark, the largest US retail pharmacy chain announced a safety policy that it will remove chemicals that have been linked to health problems from its house-branded products and replace them with safer alternatives. They will produce paraben-free products that today's women wants their makeup to make them feel glamorous,and something good for their skin.

Top 10 Social Networking Sites for April 2008

For those of you wondering which social networking site is the best, or more used, here are the top ten according to Nielsen Online. Although Myspace.com is number one, Facebook is right behind with a growth of 56% compared to Myspace.com 3%.

Facebook to change homepages

Facebook announced that in June it will redesign each users homepage . Each profile will now contain categories for information with tabs at the top of each page to allow for easier access for visitors and for each profile owner. Facebook expects to receive a lot of complaints as people do not like change even if it is "good change."

Impatient Web users


According to Dr. Jakob Nielsen, Web users are getting more brutal and selfish when they go online. Instead of being gentle on websites many users want simply to reach a site quickly and complete a task. Success rates measuring whether web users attain from their online experience are now about 75%, said Dr Nielsen. In 1999 this figure was 60%. Dr. Nielsen told BBC News, that the designs have become better but also users have become familiar to interactive environment.
People want sites to get to the point, instead of going through the homepage, they would simply use the link that took them directly to a page or destination inside a site. However, people often fail with their search and do not get the results they were looking for. Nielson suggests in the long run if you wants to beat Google, you must make a better search. Good news for Ice cream lovers

If you are sacrificing your favorite food due to diet issues, there is a great news for ice cream lovers; recent Swedish study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that women who have at least one serving of full-fat dairy products a day gain less weight than women who don't. Although researchers aren't completely sure why, but it's believed that a compound in milk fat called conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) may aid weight loss. Singaporean blogger arrested for posting racist comments

According to the Singapore Police Force, a 24-year-old Chinese man was arrested in Singapore on May 20th and charged with posting racist comments on his blog. Singapore is mainly Chinese, but also has large Malay and Indian communities. Their government is generally quick to clamp down on public comments that might create tension between the country's different ethnic groups for historical reasons. According to the new paper the arrested man apologized and he is planning to make an online apology. Well since most of us are new to blogs we must be careful with what we post in order to be safe.
